Job Title: Project Manager – Estates
Locations: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Working Hours: Full time
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Fixed Term Contract until April 2026
We are seeking to appoint a driven and energetic Project Manager to join our Estates Team at West Nottinghamshire College. The Estates Team manage the College premises and physical resources, whilst focusing on enhancing the learning environment of our learners and maintaining the integrity of the estate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building projects (mechanical, electrical and structural) within the college’s portfolio of sites, ensuring the planned works remain within available budgets constraints & timescales. You will oversee contractors undertaking both minor and major building works whist establishing delivery and quality.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a) To be responsible for building projects (mechanical/electrical/structural) within the College portfolio
b) To manage and provide leadership and coordination of college building projects.
c) To act as the College representative to external contractors and undertake the role of ‘informed client, being the single point of contact between the College and any external project team
d) To plan required works within available budgets constraints & timescales.
e) To select and appoint external contractors, ensuring value for money. To project manage their performance, inspecting work carried out by external bodies to ensure it is up to college standards.
f) To use CAD facilities to assist planning and design and the updating of drawings
Required:
1. A construction or building based qualification
2. An Auto CAD Skillset (desired)
3. English and Maths Level 2
4. Enhanced DBS will need to be obtained

About the role:
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to be part of our Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) team, to deliver both theory and practical sessions and to also undertake reviews in the workplace. You will plan, deliver, and assess identified vocational programmes including commercial activities and drive developments within the area, supporting apprentices to achieve on a range of programmes.
As well as carrying a teaching load, this role will assess/review apprentices completing ACR Apprenticeships in the workplace and will support the apprentices’ progress through the relevant programmes at intermediate and advanced levels. The role requires monitored visits to see apprentices and employers in the workplace, as well as frequent attendance at the Station Park Centre, liaising with technical delivery staff and supporting apprentices with the knowledge requirements. The successful candidate would be within the Mansfield area or reside at a location that allows a daily commute to our Station Park Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
· To co-ordinate, design, deliver and develop a programme(s) of study for a group(s) of learners and apprentices in college, in the workplace and at employer’s premises
· To support the apprentice to meet all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of their apprenticeship standard. Working in conjunction with the employer you will tailor your delivery to compliment the learning, development and continuous assessment being managed by the employer and support the employer to do this effectively.
· To utilise your professional knowledge and skill to regularly review the apprentice’s progress
· against the standard and in conjunction with the apprentice and employer, make informed judgements that clearly demonstrate that the apprentice is deemed competent against the relevant requirements of that standard.
· To prepare the apprentice to be able to demonstrate consistently that they have met the required sector set professional standards enabling them to be supported through gateway to end point assessment. This will include supporting the employer to confidently decide at what point this will take place.
· To develop best practice in learning, teaching and assessment ensuring standardisation and continuity.
